Wish I had more pretty words to say
Sometimes the most honest thing we can say is that we don't have the right words. After a week of working with hapé, I'm learning to sit with the swirling emotions around my personal healing and current events affecting immigrant communities — including my own Filipino family's story.
After 6 days of communing with hapé, I heard the call to step back and integrate everything I've learned this past week.
This is not the end of our relationship, merely a sign of respect for the plant spirit. Ultimately I know it may lead me to water, but I must drink out of my own volition.
Today, I spent time drinking in rest, meditation, stillness. The swirling emotions and energies, especially in the States with I.C.E has been a lot. Protests and arrests are happening where I grew up, near Los Angeles, and where I'm located, in Las Vegas.
I don't have the correct words or thoughts to say right now – my parents and family are immigrants from the Philippines. I am part of the first generation born here in the States.
It's got me pretty blue, so a blue abstract doodle and my best attempts at writing something today.
Wish I had more pretty words to say, but I'll be trying to offer some casual space via Twitch streaming for a short period tonight.
Stay safe and be well.
Thanks for being here,
